Nearly 2 months ago the NHL Playoffs started , but who honestly would’ve picked the #6 seeded NJ Devils to square off against the 8th seeded L.A Kings? The New Jersey Devils were pushed to the brink of elimination vs the Florida Panthers in their first round match up, posting a double OT win in game 7 to advance against the Philadelphia Flyers. After losing game 1, The New Jersey Devils found their groove and rolled off 4 straight wins to defeat the Flyers in 5 games. In the Eastern Conference Finals they beat their arch rivals, top seeded New York Rangers , in 6 games to earn their 5th Stanley Cup finals appearance since 1995.  The West, well you could say the Los Angeles Kings breezed their way thru. Swept past  the President Trophy winner, Vancouver Canucks in the first round. They beatdown the 2nd seeded St. Louis Blues in 5 games and also took care of business against the 3rd seeded Phoenix Coyotes in 5 games. What is even more impressing? How about not losing a road game all playoffs, 8-0, an NHL record, and winners of their last 10 on the road. It’s been nearly 20 years since this franchise has hoisted the Stanley Cup, something they hope to change this season. For more on this and an in depth look into the series check out ,
