Eastern Conference Finals: In the last few days, following up on my previous article, Montreal and New York took the series back to New York, where in game 3, the Montreal Canadians took it to the Rangers. The game went into overtime, as the Rangers tied the game late. Montreal went into overtime and got a huge game winning goal by Alex Galchenyuk. Going into game 4, the Rangers fell behind again, only to come back and send that game into OT, where Martin St. Louis played the hero for New York. It’s been a hard series for the Canadians, and the Rangers have had some great play by players who struggled earlier in the series, like Rick Nash. Of course, they’ve continued to have great goaltending by Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped 27 of 29 shots in Game 4. The series resumes Tuesday in Montreal with Game 5 at 8PM at the Bell Centre. Will the Rangers close out this series and advance to the cup, or can Montreal mount a comeback?
Western Conference Finals: Now, we’re going to take a look at the Western Conference Finals series, and look at the current standings of the series, and where it may go. The Blackhawks began the series with a win against the Kings. Things totally changed when the Kings came back in game 2, after falling behind in the game 2-0. They scored 6 unanswered goals to take over game 2 and tie the series at 1 a piece. In game three, the Blackhawks struck early and took a 1-0 lead, and then LA took over. They ended up winning the game 4-3. Los Angeles has a 2-1 series lead, and are currently up 4-2 with 4 minutes remaining in the third period. Can the Blackhawks rebound to tie up the series, or will LA continue to be the Kings of the west?
