I guess I need to stop picking against the Cowboys after another 1-2 week to fall to 9-9 on the season. Let’s try again:

HOUSTON TEXANS at Tennessee Titans
The Texans are losers of three straight, with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick facing the possibility of being benched for Ryan Mallet, who was acquired late in the offseason, and has been getting a better grasp of the offense in practice as the season has progressed. The Texans are also dealing with multiple injuries to the defense, including to Jadeaveon Clowney and Brian Bushing. But the 2-5 Titans aren’t exactly in better shape, with rookie Zach Mettzenberger getting the start at quarterback over Charlie Whitehurst and Jake Locker. Look for the Texans to break their losing streak over the vulnerable Titans, FINAL SCORE: Texans 24, Texans 10.

The Rams pulled off the shocker last week, beating the Seahawks and overcoming Russell Wilson thanks to a couple of trick special team plays, but it’s going to be difficult to repeat that against a tough Chiefs defense at home. Kansas City is only giving up 20 points a game and the second fewest passing yards in the league, so rookie Austin Davis will be in for a long day. Look for Alex Smith to exploit the Rams’ injuries to the secondary, and expect a big day from their big tight end, Travis Kelce. FINAL SCORE- Chiefs 28, Rams 17

Philadelphia Eagles at ARIZONA CARDINALS
This should be one of the better games of the week, with the high-flying Eagles offense against the Cards’ up-and-coming offense that now has Carson Palmer back, and an underrated defense allowing only 19 points a game, with only one real blemish on their season resume (the Broncos). Nick Foles vs. Palmer stands to be an interesting matchup of youth against experience, and this could very well be an old-fashioned shootout, but in the end I give the edge to home team here, and look for the Cardinals to come out of it 6-1. FINAL SCORE- Cardinals 35, Eagles 31
