The NFL Season really does go by quick.  It seems like yesterday it was August and we were in the preseason, now its Week 13 and the NFL playoffs are only four weeks away.  In Fantasy for most people, the playoffs start in Week 15, meaning either most of your league’s playoff seeding is set (like I basically am in my money league), or you are like me in my keeper league, meaning you are 6-6 and about to take on the Division leader, meaning this week is do or die for you.  You can’t afford a mistake, one mistake ends your season.  So with that, we begin Sit Em’/ Start Em’:

-START: QB: Andy Dalton, Cin- Dalton’s had a great second year, completely bypassing the sophomore slump, and this week he gets to play a porous Charger defense ranked 12th in the league in terms of points allowed to QBs, and don’t forget the 4th and 29 they let Ray Rice convert.  I wish I didn’t have to face him in my keeper league this week because he’s doing a good job of leading the Bengals on a playoff run.

-SIT- QB: Carson Palmer, Oak- I wish I didn’t have to start him in my money league, and I wish he wasn’t on my opponent’s team in my keeper league.  Plus I wish the Raiders weren’t so terrible now after their thrashing last week, in arguably Palmer’s worst game of the season.  Cleveland’s defense is nothing special, but it has held Baltimore, Dallas and Pittsburgh in check the last three weeks.  In what looks to be a battle of the bottom of the league, if you can avoid Palmer, I’d do it if I could.

-START- RB: Jacquizz Rodgers, Atl- Its only a matter of time for this guy.  He’s already been getting the majority of the on- field reps (by a slight margin), and he’s obviously a better receiver than human bowling ball Michael Turner can be.  Due to Rodgers 5 ft 6 in frame, the Falcons will probably never devote their entire running game to him, so Turner will probably remain involved, but if he can start to get 10 carries on a consistant basis, Rodgers will make them count, and against a Saints defense that gives up the fourth most fantasy points to running backs, take a chance on him going off big time this week.

-SIT- RB: Marshawn Lynch, Sea- After last week’s 19 carry 46 yard effort against the Dolphins, one must wonder if Lynch’s back may finally be starting to get to him after two months of fighting through it.  Now Miami has a tough run defense, so its probably not all that, but it does give pause for concern as the Seahawks now travel to Chicago to face the second best run defense in the league.  If you don’t have to lean on him this week, try not to.

-START- WR: Ryan Broyles, Det- Obviously this hinges on Titus Young’s status on Sunday, as he just returned to Lions practice after being exiled by Jim Schwartz after the Lions game against the Packers two weeks ago, but if Broyles has another large role in the passing game against a weak Colts defense, he’s a great start, and clearly a better option this week than the guy he is replacing in my lineup this week…………

-SIT- WR- Larry Fitzgerald, Ari- It kills me to do this, because I love this guy, and I still believe he’s the best in the game, problem is its hard to prove that given the way the Cardinals QB situation gets worse every year.  And the Jets just got destroyed last week and are probably a good matchup for most receivers of Larry Legend’s status, problem is Ryan Lindley should not be starting an NFL game, and the Cardinals once again show their lack of preparation for what is probably the most important position in the game today.  I feel bad for Fitzgerald, he’s wasted the best years of career having to carry terrible quarterbacks, imagine if he had a real one for a whole season.  Unfortunately he doesn’t, so try not to need him this week.
